Duc Chien: U23 Vietnam goal is to concede as less goal as possible

In the AFC U23 Championship 2020 finals, Duc Chien will play as defensive midfielder. With an ideal physical and disputing ability, the 21-year-old player promises to be the "perfect sweeper" in front of the three defenders of U23 Vietnam.

"Entering the most fierce tournament for young players under the age of 23, we must be aware of the difficulty and try our best in training. Food and living issues will have to be more professional,” Duc Chien told Viettel.

Two years ago was the success milestone of Park Hang-seo in Vietnam.

Duc Chien continued: “The achievements that Vietnam has achieved are worthy. As soon as Mr. Park came to Vietnam work as the head coach, the spirit of Vietnam has risen. In recent times, Vietnamese football is developing very fast. All opponents will assess us more carefully, be cautious when confronting us.

For us that (AFC U23 Championship 2018 achievement) is a big pressure. We must endeavor to maintain the same or higher result than Vietnam seniors. My goal, like my first teammates, was to concede as little as possible. That is an important goal ”.

The match between U23 Vietnam and U23 UAE team will take place at 5:15PM on Jan 10. After that, Vietnam will face U23 Jordan on January 13, before confronting U23 Korea on January 16.
