Hai Phong coach Pham Anh Tuan has revealed the reason why Park Hang-seo did not summon goalkeeper Nguyen Van Toan in the upcoming focus of U22 Vietnam.
Recently, Park Hang-seo has summoned 28 players for the upcoming short-term focus of U22 Vietnam. A series of young players who have been in high form recently such as Hai Long, Le Minh Binh, Tran Danh Trung, ... have been given the opportunity by the Korean strategist in the upcoming rally.
However, goalkeeper Nguyen Van Toan is not in this list. It is known that the Hai Phong FC goalkeeper is suffering from a foot injury and could not recruit to focus this time.
It was coach Pham Anh Tuan who confirmed the above information: “He was injured. Van Toan has pain in his toe joint. I dont know when he will come back".
Van Toan is currently one of the best young goalkeepers in the V-League 2020. He has captured 6 consecutive games for Hai Phong since the beginning of the V.League 2020. However, in the last round, Van Toan has been absent because of injury. His replacement, goalkeeper Van Luan, also played well when he kept a clean sheet against HAGL.
With a high performance in the color of Hai Phong's shirt, as well as a good performance at the last SEA Games 30, Van Toan was considered one of the pillars of the journey to defend the championship at SEA Games 31. Besides, the young goalkeeper of Hai Phong is also one of the alternatives to Dang Van Lam at the upcoming AFF Cup 2020.
As planned, U22 Vietnam will focus from 1-3 / 7 and have a friendly match with U19 Vietnam on July 2.
