Vietnam lost to Cambodia because of unscrupulous and poor moral players

Considered as a candidate for the championship at the U18 tournament in Southeast Asia, however, U18 Vietnam played very disappointed. In the last match against U18 Cambodia, coach Hoang Anh Tuan was forced to win to advance to the next round. However, the weak performance caused U18 Vietnam to lose 1-2.

The historic defeat before Cambodian football caused U18 Vietnam to be eliminated immediately after the group stage. Even Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan has to resign as U18 Vietnam head coach.

9 months after the historic defeat, coach Hoang Anh Tuan has revealed the cause of the defeat to Cambodia. The strategist   affirmed that the younger generation of Quang Hai had poor morals.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan said: "The team has failed, both literally and figuratively. I think with the stature of Vietnamese football compared to the region, the achievement must be higher. The failure of U18 Vietnam is not only professional. Losing to U18 Cambodia is not the biggest reason.

That failure is also because of the poor morals of the players. When I was their coach, it was a very difficult time. I need time, a whole process. As for Quang Hai and Van Hau, I worked for 3-4 years. With all that time, I can convey, advise and educate them."

Former U19 Vietnam coach revealed that during the U18 South East Asia, up to 9 players violated the team's discipline rules. Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan asserted himself also responsible, so he decided to resign.

U18 Vietnam won only 7 points, losing to Malaysia (9 points) and Australia (12 points). The Vietnam Football Federation confirmed coach Hoang Anh Tuan resigned an hour after losing to Cambodia.

Even commentator Quang Huy has not thought about the day Vietnam lost to its neighbor in football: "Many people and I probably have not imagined the day when Vietnam lost to Cambodia."
