Coach Hoang Van Phuc believes that Thai NT deserved 2 red cards due to their violent unsporting behaviors to Van Hau and Cong Phuong.

Looking back to the King’s Cup 2019 kick-off match, Vietnam NT got a lot of pressures from hosts Thailand. However, Park Hang-seo’s side came into the game with huge confidence and brought back a 1-0 win over Thailand to secure a place in the final.

Commenting about the collisions on yesterday game, Hoang Van Phuc shared his opinion to Zing:

"In general, the opponent was hungry for a win so they played in an over-enthusiast way. Therefore, there were many situations the opponent played violently more than necessary.”

The man in black holding the whistle in the match was Jumpei Iida (Japan) who is known as ‘Card King’ in J-League resulted from his stern. However, he seemed to have a little easy handed decision in the very match especially to the fouls belonged to Thai players.

Hoang Van Phuc added:

“This is a friendly game so the referee handled more softly and harmoniously. His decisions can be understandable and the game ended nicely.”

“Nonetheless, Thai players had some situations which were quite violent. It was Thitipan Puangchan’s behavior to Van Hau in the 10th minute. That was a situation where the contender’s captain played very recklessly.”

Thai players’ fouls led the game’s atmosphere to become intense, making Quang Hai and Que Ngoc Hai anger clearly and have to complain to the referee. Park Hang-seo had to run into the field to stop his students from being losing their temper.

No matter how Thai players played, they could not earn a beneficial result, thereby seeing their archrival coming to the final to be held right on their home ground. The team is set to play for a 3rd place match against India NT 15:30 on June 8.
