Indonesia fans were disappointed when the home team lost 2 consecutive matches in the knockout stage of the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship Qualification's Group K.

Coach Indonesia talks about the losing match to Vietnam

U23 Vietnam beat U23 Indonesia to win an overwhelming victory in the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship Qualification's Group K. Although overpowered the opponent in most of the time of the 2nd half, Vietnam were quite deadlocked in front of opposing team’s goal.

However, Coach Park Hang-seo's side then snatched a success thanked Trieu Viet Hung's header at the last minutes of the game.

Sans Wazowski: "The curse has been resolved. Congratulations to Vietnam”.

The mentioned curse said here is that Indonesian teams have recently beat the Vietnam's in such tournaments as AFF Cup 2016, Southeast Asia and Asia U19 and U16 taking place last year. Many sports magazines said jokingly that Vietnam won the 2018 AFF Cup Championship by reason of avoiding Indonesia.

Meanwhile, other fans criticized Egy Maulana, a star player of Indonesia side.

M Abdul Rasyid said: "Why did we lose? We rested on our laurels with the previous Southeast Asian U22 championship. There were too many rewards from the government and the sponsors making the players losing their motivations. That leads to losing serial 2 matches, so nothing to complain about. ”

Wan Yo said: “I am not angry but the team has let me down. Where was Egy Maulana? What did it bring about from playing abroad? ”

Riz Rafael: “Coach Indra was too confident in having Egy. Egy doesn't deserve to be the superstar of the team.”

Suhandika Dika: "What did Egy learn from heading overseas to Poland. He is exactly the product of media. His football skills are almost stomped on the spot. It's disappointing.”

Ahc Ya L: “Without Egy, Indonesia is a champion but with him, we even don't have a chance to get through the qualifiers.”

Narongsin Lansri said bitterly: "Before the match, we won 6-0, after the game we lost 0-1", pointed out the baseless prediction of the local websites.

On March 26, U23 Vietnam is set to battle U23 Thailand in the final round of the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship.
