Coach Tan Cheng Hoe expressed extremely worried about the physical condition of Malaysian players before the match with Vietnam in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia.

This inadvertently caused many difficulties for coach Tan Cheng Hoe in preparing for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia.
Witnessing the Vietnamese players returning to play during the past time, the head coach of Malaysia NT was extremely worried for his players:
“The FIFA only allows teams to gather for 10 days, from 5 to 13 October. If the tournament comes back sooner, it's a good thing because the players regain confidence and become more competitive.
In case the players continue to practice from July 15 to September 1, there will be depression in them. But if M.League plays earlier, they will have more time for the national team. If players play with a high density, the players are at risk of injury. That is a big concern for me."
In addition, coach Tan Cheng Hoe also revealed that he has no plans to play friendly matches with the local club when the national team is focused. Instead, the Malaysian Football Federation is trying to arrange a friendly match with Bahrain before the UAE and Vietnam clashes.
Currently Malaysia is ranked 2nd in Group G of the 2022 World Cup qualifying round in Asia with 9 points, 2 points behind Vietnam. The direct confrontation between the two teams on October 13 will greatly affect the situation of this group.
