The Malaysia team is facing a lot of dificulties when preparing for the decisive confrontation with Vietnam in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the plans of the country's footballers to be repeatedly broken.

Recently, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin did not approve the plan to restart  Malaysia Super League in June. This is because the Covid-19 pandemic in this country is still very complicated.

Coach Tan Cheng Hoe is having a headache when Malaysian football is in delay.

To overcome this situation, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has proposed a new plan. Accordingly, Malaysia Super League will be held without  spectators.

The tournament will also be held only once leg instead of the usual two.

However, it is not clear at this time whether the above plan is accepted. If the situation continues to be complicated, the plan is dramatically to be approved. "If it fails to restart in September, Malaysia Super League will also be canceled," New Straits Time analyzed.

However, whether Malaysia Super League  is held or not, Malaysia will certainly face great disadvantages when meeting Vietnam again in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Being unable to train and play will make Malaysian players unable to achieve best performance. Not to mention, the risk of injury is also higher when the players do not have the necessary time.

The Vietnamese players are more advantageous than their Malaysian rivals.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese players have been able to return to the club with the club from the end of April. At the end of May, Vietnamese professional football tournaments were officially returned after a delay in matches. in the National Cup. From then until September (when the Vietnam national team is teamed up), Vietnamese players have enough time to accumulate fitness and performance after a long break.

It is expected that the match between Vietnam and Malaysia in Group G will take place on October 13. In this case, coach Tan Cheng Hoe has only about 2 weeks to prepare- not much compared to the one-month preparation of Park Hang-seo’s side.
